Is money really important? Don't get me wrong, I am not some follower of communalism just a normal economics student who perceives money as a standard of deferred payment, unit of measure and store of value or in other words, I would say that it has only three demands transaction, precautionary and speculative. (Source: Keynes theory of money) Back to my question, is money really important?
Let's follow the pattern of Michael Sandel philosophy class, I will give you a case and you just think.
Assume that you are standing on a bridge because the weather is great suddenly you saw that there is a bundle of money which is put by someone on the railing of the bridge if you don't grab it maybe it can fall down in water. As soon as you try to rush there a car met with an accident, the driver can be saved only if you choose to save him in this situation what will you do? Either you help human and let the bundle drown in water or complete opposite of it.
Let's take another case but with the same scenario you saw the bundle, you are going to grab but at a sudden a man comes from nowhere to commit suicide. What will you do, help the man or let him die. Most people will help. We all have moral values but these values are situational. We are motivated to act as per this only when we are not blinded by greed.
In normal day to day situations, fooling others for earning quick money is so common.
